Outstanding Groundwater Supply Project Award Presented
One of the 2022 National Ground Water Association (NGWA) Outstanding Groundwater Supply Project Awards was presented to the Hopi Utilities Corporation and DBS&A at the 2022 NGWA Groundwater Week event in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 8, 2022.
Selwyn Sekaquaptewa, Utilities Manager, Hopi Utilities Corporation, accepted the award in conjunction with DBS&A Project Manager and Geochemist Chris Wolf, PG. The NGWA Groundwater Supply Award recognizes outstanding science, engineering, and/or contractor innovation that resulted in recent significant positive change, in the area of supplying groundwater. The Hopi CARES Water Supply Project (funded by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) included completion of four new water supply wells and installation of six new pumping systems to meet the Hopi community’s long-time need for a high quality, reliable water supply, in critical locations.
