Spotlight on Kathy Vail
The Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) Quarterly Newsletter features DBS&A Geologist Kathy Vail in its summer 2024 edition. Kathy joined DBS&A after retiring from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) over 10 years ago. Throughout her consulting career, Kathy has focused on oil field assessment and remediation projects, environmental permitting, injection well permitting and compliance assistance, and petroleum storage tank remediation projects.
Her broad experience as a project manager and professional geoscientist, includes underground injection control (UIC) Class I, IV, V, and VI injection wells, waste disposal, leaking underground storage tanks (LUSTs), and Texas environmental rule development, enforcement, permitting, and compliance. She has successfully closed more than 40 TCEQ Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) sites.
