DBS&A at Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge

Events, Need to Know

Amy Ewing BSMAREarlier this month, the 17th Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge, a collaborative effort between the Arizona Hydrological Society (AHS) and the Groundwater Resources Association (GRA) of California, was held virtually and focused on resilience through recharge and recovery. We provided additional support for this event by being a co-sponsor.

Amy Ewing, PG, presented on “Managed Aquifer Recharge and Water Supply Resilience in Albuquerque,” work done in collaboration with DBS&A’s Christopher Wolf, PG, and Katherine Yuhas of Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. Their work was also on the front page of “Fountainhead,” a Texas Ground Water Association publication (3rd Quarter, 2020).

Technical experts from Clear Creek Associates, our Arizona counterpart and also a wholly owned subsidiary of Geo-Logic Associates, shared their knowledge on a variety of topics:

  • Marvin Glotfelty, RG, presented on City of Phoenix ASR Well Program Update Part 2
  • Doug Bartlett, RG, and Paul Plato, RG, co-presented on ASR Operations Management by Electronically “Tagging” Recharged Water
  • Don Hanson, RG, presented on Improved Site Characterization Tools for Better Basin Design
  • Doug Bartlett, RG, moderated the Managed Aquifer Recharge and Water Resources Management session
