Feasibility Studies/Technological Selection |
|
DBS&A has conducted in excess of 150 feasibility studies to evaluate the appropriateness of remedial technologies and to select technologically suitable, cost effective solutions to subsurface contamination at industrial facilities and underground storage tank sites. In recent years, we have performed:
- More than 150 treatability studies and cost evaluations for selection of remedial remedies in accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Risk Based Corrective Action guidelines at leaking underground storage tank sites or the New Mexico Environment Department’s leaking petroleum storage tank guidelines
- Four separate feasibility studies under CERCLA and/or state Superfund guidance in Texas and New Mexico (Harvey Industries, Inc. Superfund Site, Athens, Texas; State Road 114 Ground Water Plume, Levelland, Texas; Griggs & Walnut Ground Water Plume, Las Cruces, New Mexico; and the North Cavalcade Street Superfund Site, Houston, Texas)
- A study of remedial alternatives and costs at a high-profile 2,332-acre chemical effluent disposal site undergoing characterization and remediation as part of a major redevelopment program in Clark County, Nevada, involving metals, pesticides, radionuclides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater
- An evaluation of two proposed alternatives (in-situ thermal desorption (ISTD) and excavation and off-site disposal) for remediating VOCs at a former port facility situated adjacent to the San Francisco Bay in California
- A feasibility study and remedial action plan for chlorinated hydrocarbons, TCE and its degradation products , and 1-1 TCA and its degradation products in soil and groundwater at a former avionics manufacturing in Santa Ana, California
- A feasibility study for a residential development impacted by lead in soil in Santa Barbara, California for a group of investors
